It All Depends on Whose Hands It’s In

A basketball in my hands is worth about $19.
A basketball in Michael Jordan’s hands is worth about $33 million.
It depends on whose hands it’s in…

A baseball in my hands is worth about $6.
A baseball in Mark McGuire’s hands is worth $19 million.
It depends on whose hands it’s in…

A tennis racket is useless in my hands.
A tennis racket in Pete Sampras’ hands is a Wimbledon Championship.
It depends on whose hands it’s in…

A rod in my hands will keep away a wild animal.
A rod in Moses’ hands will part the mighty sea.
It depends on whose hands it’s in…

A sling shot in my hands is a kid’s toy.
A sling shot in David’s hand is a mighty weapon.
It depends on whose hands it’s in…

Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in my hands is a couple of fish sandwiches.
Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in God’s hands will feed thousands.
It depends on whose hands they’re in…

Nails in my hands might produce a birdhouse.
Nails in Christ Jesus’ hands will produce salvation for the entire world.
It depends on whose hands they’re in…

As you see now it depends whose hands it’s in.

So put your concerns, your worries, your fears, your hopes, your dreams, your families, and your relationships in God’s Hands.

Because, it depends on whose hands they’re in.

There is so much power in those words!

As a former point guard, whose hands I put the ball in during the game meant the difference between winning and losing. I knew better than to try and keep the ball to myself. I played an important role in the game, but ultimately, giving the ball up to my teammates is what made our team successful.

This is a winning strategy because that’s what we want, right?

VICTORY

When it comes to our lives, our track record is less than stellar as far as being able to win the mental battles with fear, anxiety, depression. We are no where near a winning record.

But here’s the thing, God’s is! God is 100% victorious when it comes to keeping His promises. He is 100% successful at defeating Satan.

100%

What I find interesting is that we seem to naturally cheer for the underdog and in this little analogy, we see ourselves as the underdog.

We think, “Look Lord, I know I don’t have the record to show much success on my own, but I REEEAALLLY feel like this time I can handle it. This time will be different. I am going to hang on to the ball. I am going to hang on to my problems. I am going to hang on to my fears and I am going to make it through on my own.”

Because God loves us so much, He says, “Ok.” – but He never leaves our side…ever!

He allows us to take the ball down the court, get stuck in the corners, have those full court presses all over us.

You know though, Satan can’t win unless we throw him the ball. He can mess with us but unless we pass him the ball, he can’t win the game.

When we keep the ball (our stress, fear, anxiety), we are keeping God from giving us victory.

Even though God wins 100% OF THE TIME! (I cannot emphasis that enough!)

So, my challenge is for us to become the leader in assists.

Let’s give a strong chest pass to God and say, “Here you go, Buddy! Go win the game!”

Because remember, that really is what we want – VICTORY.

Does it matter that we are not the one who wins the game?

It shouldn’t. We shouldn’t be boasting and doing all of this for our own glory.

We should be boasting in God’s glory.

That’s where the peace is. That’s where the life of fulfillment is.

Are you up for it?!

Give me a high five in the comments if you are up for giving God a strong chest pass!

Let’s let God carry us on to VICTORY!

“Cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you.” 1Peter 5:7
